Where Can Vaccinated South Africans Travel At The Moment?

Blog title

To date* 9.19 million South Africans have been vaccinated against COVID-19, of which 3.96 million or 6.8% of the population are already fully vaccinated. This is excellent news for the corporate travelling community since it means that there is more scope to hit the tarmac and drum up business abroad once more. However, not all countries have opened their borders to travelling South Africans just yet.

As the vaccination process continues in South Africa, the main target we need to reach is 67% fully vaccinated, which is required for herd immunity. Once this is reached, more international destinations will have confidence that they can open their borders to South African travellers.

At TravelManor we realise that the state of flux the travel industry is in right now can be extremely frustrating for business travellers. As such, we take care to keep a firm grasp on everything that is going on locally and abroad so we can provide our clients with an updated list of accessible countries at all times. Here is a list of countries that vaccinated South Africans can fly in and out of at this time:

  • Albania

There are further countries that are open for travel based on test results, which means that business travellers will be required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test before being permitted to travel to these destinations. Yet others work on a testing and quarantine basis, which means that business travellers need to present a negative COVID-19 test and also quarantine for a given time period upon arrival at their destination.

Before making any flight or accommodation bookings, make sure to check that the borders of your destination are still open and that flights from South Africa are, in fact, allowed.
